About
Ryan Dresen is a horn player originally from the wide-open landscapes of Montana. Praised by the press as “particularly characterful,” and a player with “beauty and power throughout the range,” Ryan brings a vibrant, expressive energy to every performance, whether on stage as a soloist or as a collaborator.
He is a recent fellow of Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect and a member of The Chamber Orchestra of New York, performing regularly in some of the world’s most renowned concert spaces. Ryan holds a master’s degree from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, where he studied with Dr. Anne-Marie Cherry.
A passionate chamber musician, Ryan is a founding member of the Callaway Chamber Players, who have been on faculty at the Antioquia Festival de Música in Medellín, Colombia. As a soloist, he has performed with the Spokane Symphony, Whitworth Symphony Orchestra, Schwob Contemporary Ensemble, and The Blue Morpho Orchestra. As a teacher, he has led masterclasses at the University of Montana, Columbus State University, and the University of Antioquia.
Outside of music, Ryan finds joy in nature, a well-pulled espresso shot, and exploring new places around the world. Whether on stage or on the trail, he brings curiosity, intention, and heart to everything he does.
